Dr. Rajan Gurukkal, inaugurated the U.G.C sponsored national conference on Teaching Learning Evaluation being hosted by BPC College ,Piravom. Malankara Jacobite Education Trust Manager, H.G Joseph Mor Gregorious presided over the inaugural function. Dr.Raju K. John, former principal, BPC College and Dr. Sunny Kuriakose, Principal, BPC College were present. Dr. Rajan Gurukkal in his inaugural address stressed the importance of the role of a teacher in facilitating the cognitive process. He pointed out the importance of teacher’s exercising their critical faculties in inventing exemplifications and illustrations to equip the students to encounter knowledge. A teacher, Dr. Gurukkal clarified, should negotiate between technical language and common sense understanding so that learning is made relevant in society. Around 100 delegates participated in the conference. The forenoon technical session is led by Dr. Thankamuthu former V.C Bharatidasan University. The afternoon session was be led by Dr. Rajan Varghese, Director, Mar Thoma College of Engineering. First day of the two day national seminar will witnessed five presentations. The focal point of the discussions was that a student centered pedagogy is the need and right of the student community. An ICT enhanced teaching learning can be more effective. Delegates , Ms Prigimol, Mr Sachin , Mr Jobin Abraham, Mr. Bruce Mathew and Mr Reji .M .Issac presented their research papers as a part of the conference. |
